with the addition of more places to the Street View on Google maps I decided to look at my old homes. I've missed out the very first flat I lived in as I can't be sure which house it is, and I've missed out Farnsfield as it isn't on a road and I was only there a few months. so..
from the top left:
Hanley Terrace Malvern Road - from a few months old to about 2 (a bit moot that this is the right house. My mother can't remember the number and so I've tried to match it up with photos I have and memories. I'm fairly sure it was the ground floor of this house).
Juniper Square Havant (house in furthest right hand corner) - from ages 2 to 3. We rented this and had to leave because my parents were ?5 overdrawn and the bank manager said we would have to move...I wish I was only ?5 overdrawn now!
The Strand, Ryde IOW aged 3 to 4/5, with my grandparents in the ground floor flat.
In those days the beds at the front were full of lupins that my granddad grew. I used to love to sit in the middle of them. Also had abandoned basements we could play in, and my Nana's beloved "verandah".
Melville Street Ryde IOW til age 6 - top floor flat - site of "the day the floor fell through on to Mrs Philpot", the great turkey heist that was mistaken for the great Melville Street Murder, the plague of flies, the secret rooms and many many more mad but happy memories.
Cooper Road Newport IOW til age 10 minus 1 day - happy days playing on building sites, down culvert pipes, in mile upon mile of fields (or so it seemed), in Jeremy's tree house. So much freedom.
Nether Way, Nether Poppleton, York again with my grandparents until around 15. The rose tint on the memories starts to fade around now.
St Andrewgate York - ground floor flat in the pilastered building, until 18 (or 22 if you don't count all the university stuff)
